“ I ordered fish and chips and I've got to say it's the best fish and chips I've had in years. The fish was cooked to perfection. Really moist and a great tasting batter and piping hot chips. I can't recommend them enough. I'll certainly be back.. give them a try.. what was also great is that they had home made pie, cornbread hash and a few other food items that you don't normally get in your average chip shop. Will give them a go next time I'm in.. ”

“ Nice chip shop with really welcoming, friendly staff. I opted for Haddock with regular chips and a large Irish curry sauce. I was offered a taste of the curry sauce before I bought it, which was good. I enjoyed the fish and chips, I thought the regular chips were a really generous portion, but I thought the normal Haddock fish was a little smaller than I expected. However the taste was nice, the batter on the Haddock was nicely crunchy and the Irish curry sauce was an unusual taste but was lovely too. I'll definitely be going back. Update: Went back to Shell's Plaice with an order with a few people from work and this time I had the Salt and Pepper regular box. The chicken was good, the curry sauce was really nice, and the chips were OK. Again it's a solid 4/5 and a recommended. ”

“ I have been here 3 times recently the latest was on Friday with my work colleague. The fish is outstanding, fresh white and flaky however it is the beef dripping batter that makes the real difference. Everything is so tasty including the chips as they are also cooked in beef dripping. The mushy peas are also another level. I have not tasted a chippy like it except when I used to go to Scarborough. I would totally recommend… also the girl serving was lovely and made sure it was served as we wanted checking we had enough salt and vinegar and she also didn’t forget our scraps ”
